There are thousands of travel websites out there covering a huge array of topics and niches, so it can be intimidating to figure out the best travel blogs to subscribe to. We have a few personal favourites that we are subscribing to for the New Year, and also found some gems through submissions via the Girls Love Travel Facebook Group. So click subscribe to the blogs of these amazing travellers and keep fuelling your wanderlust.
In no particular order, the final list is…
Meet Manouk who is the mastermind behind Bunch Of Backpackers! We are following Bunch of Backpackers in 2016 for a variety of reasons. Manouk seems to be a few years ahead of us and living Lucy’s dream: a medical doctor still backpacking and blogging her way around the world. In 2016 she is going to be embarking on an amazing adventure through South Africa and the Silk Road, so we’ll definitely be following along.
Aileen is the sweetheart behind the amazing travel blog I Am Aileen which explores travelling the world on a ‘powerless passport’. Aileen has a great variety of posts on her blog which provide insight into world travel and travel blogging, and her writing and photography is incredibly engaging. We can’t wait to see where 2016 takes her!
Arnette runs Round The World Girl which is an inspiring blog that combines lighthearted travel advice, fabulous photographs and a touch of glamour. We love this blog because Arnette loves to have a variety of experiences and this is reflected in her blog. She describes her travel style as: “I look for great bargains but I will always splurge big for a great experience” which sounds like our idea of a great holiday. We look forward to following her journeys through the year.
Nobody inspires us quite as much as Johnny Ward, the Irishman who has made travel his life. So far exploring 178 countries and hoping to make it to the full count, no journey seems too tough for Johnny! In 2016 he’s heading to Afghanistan, so we’re definitely subscribing to OneStep4Ward to see how that turns out.
This Australian couple are on the adventure of a lifetime around the world before settling down in London for a couple of years. With amazing blog posts and breathtaking photography, these guys fill us with a desire to drop everything and travel the world. Follow The Common Wanderer on their blog or their Instagram to join in the adventure.
Heather’s stories on She Goes Global are honest, witty and very real for travellers. She approaches expressing her experiences in a variety of styles and seems to be enjoying travelling the world. We are following Heather in 2016 because we love her entertaining posts and her Global Girl features.
Eric from TravelTall is an amazing traveller with some intriguing stories to tell! His website and Instagram are awe-inspiring as he slowly makes his way around the world. He’s been going since the start of 2014 and has made it from Cape Town to Hanoi so far visiting a huge amount of places in between. We cannot wait to see where Eric goes in 2016 as he continues his quest to see the world.
Anna truly is EVERYWHERE and 2016 looks like it is going to be no exception! Whenever we check out Anna Everywhere we get to see her on another awesome and inspiring adventure. Whether it’s getting a sleigh in the North Pole or exploring Mexico, Anna shows her many fans what limitless things there are to do around the world. She also has some really important posts and travel advice on her site that we recommend reading. So follow Anna as she continues to see everything and be everywhere in 2016.
Teacake is such an adventurer and TeaCake Travels is one of the most entertaining blogs to follow in 2016. She loves to get off the beaten path and tell you how it really is. We were glued to the screen reading about all the things she got up to in 2015 and can’t wait to see all the crazy adventures in store for the next 12 months.
These three guys are from our home state of Tasmania, so that’s already a plus, but there is much more to why we are following their 2016 adventures. In the name of Medical Research the Tasmaniyaks are taking part in the Mongol Rally and driving from London to Mongolia. There are going to be some incredible and crazy stories coming out of this adventure, we’re sure! Their website is still in the making, so if you want to subscribe to their updates now, the best way is through Facebook.
We love finding new blogs and adventures to follow, so if you had a list what would be on your ‘Best Travel Blogs’? Let us know in the comments below if you have a blog, or know a blog you think we should check out.
